Your rent is calculated depending on the category of property you live in, when an offer of tenancy has been made commences you will be advised in writing of how your rent has been calculated. There are currently three methods to set rents;
Capital Assistance Scheme Rents - The Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS) is 100% grant funding for the provision of housing to meet the accommodation needs of older people, persons with a disability and other supported housing. The type of properties included is sheltered housing schemes, supported housing properties and a number of one bedroom properties. Rents for these properties are set at an affordable level. Depending on your circumstances you may be eligible for Rent Supplement.
Capital Loan and Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) This capital funding scheme, has been used primarily for family and single accommodation. Rents are based on the household income and will change depending on the household circumstances. Please refer to the Association's current Rent Setting Policy for more information.
Capital Advance Leasing Facility (CALF) & Social Housing Leasing Initiative
Properties under these schemes are those which have been acquired from 2011 onwards. The rents for these properties are calculated on the basis of the Local Authority Differential Rents Schemes in the area where the property is situated.

Due to the way in which housing association properties are funded, a tenant purchase scheme is not available to allow tenants to purchase their property.
